At Natural Start Preschool, children learn about nature through direct experience, exploration, and discovery of the world around them. The natural world is a guiding theme in all areas of curriculum, including:

Our preschool curriculum also incorporates a variety of learning activities related to health, nutrition, and physical fitness, all of which are designed to educate and inspire children toward a love of nature and a lifetime of good health and wellness. Our students learn about the importance of eating healthy, nutritious foods, and we offer periodic natural health and nutrition classes to our preschool families. We believe that it is never too early to begin teaching children about these fundamental building blocks that are necessary to a vital and healthy lifestyle.
In addition to our preschool’s unique emphasis on environmental education and healthy living, the incorporation of traditional school readiness skills is also accomplished through nature related and interactive experiences. Working closely with the Bellevue School District’s K-12 program, our teachers support children as they develop independence and the necessary skills for Kindergarten readiness and future school success.
